Ministries of St. Francis
Various groups and activities are available throughout the year
Church Under a Bridge Ministry
Members of Saint Francis Episcopal Church come together every month and prepare sack lunches that are delivered to the folks at the Church Under a Bridge in Tyler. These meals go to feed the homeless and the hungry. On the Saturday preceding the 1st Sunday of every month, members meet at Saint Francis church at 10:00 a.m. to prepare these lunches. Each sack contains a ham & cheese sandwich, chips, fruit, cookies and bottled water. Then on the 1st Sunday of every month, members meet at the church at 9:15 a.m. to load up boxes full of these sack lunches and deliver them to the Church Under a Bridge. Please join us for a Saturday prep day or a Sunday delivery day (or both). To view the schedule, click on the link below. On the Saturday prep day, join the Men's group for breakfast at 8:30 a.m..

Young at Heart Food Deliveries
Our Young-at-Heart group lovingly serves homebound individuals in our community by collecting and delivering groceries to those in need. If you or someone you know could benefit from this ministry—or if you’d like to get involved—please contact the church office for more information.
The St. Clare Order of the Daughters of the King
Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our vision as Daughters of the King is to know Jesus Christ, to make Him known to others, and to become reflections of God’s love throughout the world. The St. Clare Chapter of the Daughters of the King are women at St. Francis Episcopal Church who want to make a difference with prayer, service and evangelism in our parish, community, and the world. We gather for fellowship, study and meditation on the first Saturday of each month. All women are welcome to attend and learn more about our order.
St. Francis Men's Group
The Men’s Group at St. Francis is open to all men of the parish, ages 18 and up. We gather on the Saturday before the first Sunday of each month at 8:30 AM for a hearty breakfast and a brief meeting. All are welcome to join us for the meal—just sign up in the hall or contact the church office by the Thursday before.
After breakfast, we roll up our sleeves and prepare bag lunches (sandwich, chips, cookie, and bottled water) as part of our support for the Church Under a Bridge ministry.
But this group isn’t just about food, fun, and fellowship—we’re also focused on service. Throughout the year, the Men’s Group sponsors events and fundraisers to support outreach efforts both within our parish and in the wider community. One of our favorite traditions is the annual Turkey Smoke in November, prepared for the parish Thanksgiving luncheon.
If you’re looking for a way to serve, connect, and enjoy some good laughs along the way—the Men’s Group is for you. Come join us!
Christian Education & Formation
Youth Formation:
- Youth Class- We use the curriculum, Weaving God's Promise, as the basis of the lessons. The studensts in attendance enjoy their hot tea, hot chocolate, or hot cider around the table as we talk about the lesson.
- Children's Class - The lessons are also from Weaving God's Promises, developed by the Episcopal Church. We Have an account accessible by anyone, on the list, for the material, and the lessons are taught with creative activities for the children.
- Children's Chapel - The students have a small lesson around the liturgy. They learn the words used in the Episcopal Church, practice how to take the Eucharist, the meaning of Eucharist, and the vocabulary used. The children return to the Nave during The Peace to complete the Sunday service with their Families.

Choir & Handbell Choir
Choir
The St Francis Episcopal Church Choir sings every Sunday at the 10:45 service. They lead congregational worship and singing offertories. On occasion, we have soloists and instrumental solos or duets. Our choir always sings for a special service on Christmas Eve. They are always looking for new members!
The Choir practices every Wednesday from 7:10 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Come and sing with them anytime.
Hand Bells
Instead of voices, our Hand Bell Choir creates beautiful music with English hand bells, played at tables with handles. Our bells cover a wide range of tones, from deep lows to sparkling highs, bringing music to life in a unique and joyful way.
The Hand Bell Choir meets weekly on Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, weather and holidays permitting. We welcome anyone in the parish—men, women, and children aged 10 and up—to join us. No experience? No problem! We’ll teach you how to ring and read music.
Whether you want to join for the long haul or just ring special music for Lent, Advent, or Christmas, we’d love to have you!
