Growing as Christians
Our Worship

The structure of our worship comes from our worship book called the Book of Common Prayer.  Our worship is Bible based- we always include readings from both the Old and New Testaments.  Every worship service includes many prayers--ancient and modern, written and spontaneous.  The preaching is Bible based and celebrates God's love for us and commitment to him as citizens of His Kingdom.

Jesus tells us that we are united with God through the water of baptism.  The Episcopal Church believes that baptism in any Christian denomination makes us brothers and sisters in God's family.

Jesus shared bread and wine with his first followers and we believe that He is with us today in this meal we call Holy Communion.  Through it we receive God's forgiveness, we are fed spiritually, and we are empowered by his Spirit for ministry in His name.  All baptized persons are welcome and encouraged to share in this meal.

Education at St. Francis

St. Francis offers Sunday School classes for children and adults throughout the year.  Children's classes focus on knowing God through stories of how he relates to his people as found in the Bible and in our life today.  Classes for youth emphasize God's work in our lives and learning to live the fulfilled life by loving him and loving others as Christ loves us.

Adult Sunday School classes include Bible study, discussion of current topics, study of church history and other topics.  During portions of each year, mid-week courses are offered in basic Christianity, pastoral care and other subjects.

Small Groups

Many people find support for their lives through small groups which focus on the study of the Bible or other Christian literature.

Youth Ministry

Ministry to our youth is a top priority at St. Francis.  We offer a setting where youth can relate to others without the pressures of our society, where they can enter into discussions of their concerns without the fear of judgment or ridicule, and where they can learn the joys of caring for others.  Our youth ministry is based on the belief that a young person's growth in the Christian life is enhanced by a trusting relationship with mature Christian adults.
